Star Wars fanfic - Prequel Trilogy
Part 4 - starts 3 years before Episode III (just after Ep. II)

With the Republic struggling to predict Separatist strikes in the Outer Rim, the Jedi Council authorises a covert mission to infiltrate a hidden communications relay known only as The Black Spire. This target, buried beneath the scorched surface of Tarnis V, coordinates droid assaults and troop deployments in regions critical to the Republic's survival, including the world of Anaxes.

Only one person can gain access: General Kiera Halyn, Nyela's former alias used during her time embedded with the Separatists under Count Dooku. It's an identity that almost destroyed her, and nearly cost her everything she believed in.

Joined by her trusted ally Rinae Corvain, Nyela dons the mantle of General Halyn once more. Their mission: infiltrate, deceive, and dismantle the Black Spire from within. But the plan begins to unravel when a Separatist warlord from Halyn's past demands a test of loyalty: a strike on a Republic supply ship rumoured to be carrying civilians.

Torn between duty, morality, and survival, Nyela must walk a razor-thin line between light and darkness. As her presence spreads once more through enemy ranks, Nyela's name becomes both shield and weapon, but also a curse. Her success may turn the tide of war on Anaxes... but at what cost to herself, and the fragile trust she's rebuilt within the Jedi Order?

On her return to Coruscant, all out war has brought chaos to the city-planet, both above and on the ground. After the failed assassination on the Chancellor, Master Windu is dead, and Nyela discovers the clone attack on the Temple is underway, led by the one person she always had uncertainties around: Anakin Skywalker.

The hall was empty and dark, a mist laying over the ground like a veil. The temple felt like a beating heart of something maleficent and fierce, swallowing everything it could touch whole. She could feel his hatred growing stronger with each step she took. It was a weight that pressed down on her, forcing the air from her lungs and making it hard to breathe. She was drowning in his fury, feeling herself slip away from reality with each passing second. That was what it was. Pure madness, echoing through the halls and intensifying a hundredfold each moment. Feet stopped dead in their tracks, eyes closed and focussing on the force. Through it she felt his eyes, his dark, maleficent eyes focussed on her through the shadows. He shifted through the mists, the ripples in the air reaching her and spiking her senses. Lyanna opened her eyes, focussing on the dark figure that was hiding in the darkness. "Show yourself." She could see nothing but two yellow orbs, like the eyes of a predator, prowling through the mist. To say he frightened her would be an understatement. "The doctor." He chuckled, the mad sound echoing through the halls and sending chills up her spine. Her hand instinctively went out to her lightsaber, her thumb pressing against the button and her eyes trained on his figure. "I was hoping for Kenobi." His voice was low and threatening. Maul stepped out of the shadows, his eyes glaring at her from afar as he ignited his double-bladed lightsaber at his side. The red casted eery shadows on his dark face, his yellow orbs flaring with pure hatred as he snarled. "Why are you here?"
