A single death entwined their destinies. Love made it impossible to part. When their paths cross after a grisly murder, worlds start to collide. It's supposed to be a fleeting encounter. But fate doesn't care for the lines drawn by ancient treaties and bloodstained history. As forbidden love sparks between them, unrest stirs. Whispers of war echo through both realms. The fragile peace between fae and humankind is crumbling-and within the Night Court, betrayal coils like a serpent in the dark. Aldric is torn between protecting the one man who sees him for more than the impure creature his family does. And Roman must choose between duty to his people and the love that could cost him everything. With war looming on both sides, Aldric and Roman must risk their lives-and their hearts-to defy the forces determined to tear them apart. Love was never part of the plan. But neither was war. And what happens when his victim becomes far too interesting to remove from his life? Highest Ranking: #160 in Fantasy Excerpt: "The talisman was a long, curved piece of gold, inlaid with small diamonds along the edges. It was almost like a boomerang, except it was smaller and had ornate carvings of old Pagan runes on it that could, unfortunately, no longer be read by any man or woman still walking on Earth. Par quickly picked up everything that had fallen out of his bag before he threw it on his back saying "grab on," and extended his hand towards mine. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic speech and took his offered hand." *This wonderful cover was created by @holmesfapel - check out the stories there too!!!
