i've spent every summer of my life at the same lake house, with the same two people. kit calloway, who makes everything feel easy. and rosie brennan, who makes everything feel like it might fall apart.
they've always been there. we've always been us. the summers three. but this summer feels different. kit's taller. rosie's cooler. and i'm not sure who i am between them anymore.
we stay out too late. we swim until we can't feel our fingers. we pretend we don't notice the things we're not saying.
i love them both in different ways. maybe the same way. i'm not trying to make a choice. i'm just trying to figure out if any of us are still who we used to be. or if this is the summer everything breaks.
