She crossed to the dresser, noticing a few scattered photographs half-tucked beneath a leather-bound journal. Serena hesitated, then picked one up. It was a man. Her breath caught. He was tall, lean, with a sharply defined jaw and elegant hands, one of which was holding a guitar. His wavy black hair fell just past his ears in deliberate disarray, framing a fair face with features so perfectly sculpted they looked almost unreal. But what struck her most were his eyes. Blue. But not just blue-blue with a faint, almost otherworldly red glow at their edges. The effect was subtle, but mesmerizing. Unsettling and beautiful all at once. I leaned back in my chair, watching the steam twist off my cup. "Because they're the most dull and ordinary thing on a face. Nothing that stands out. Nothing worth looking twice at." Jason went silent for a beat. Then he exploded, "One day, you're going to fall for a pair of brown eyes, Royce. And when you do, you're going to be on your knees for those 'ordinary' eyes. Mark my words." I sighed and ended the call without replying. Idiot. Two cities. Two people. One Destiny Noah Royce, born into old money, raised to be the CEO of one of the biggest billion-dollar empires, always hated Brown eyes, why? They are too boring, too ordinary, too common. But never in his life had he imagined he would fall in love with one. Swathy Ramakrishnan, born in a traditional Tamil family in Chennai. Too obedient, too soft, perfect daughter. Her only flaw is her dream. New York. Her plan was simple: get to her dream city, live a little, breathe a little, and come back home before she got addicted. But it was too late.
