~COMPLETED~ Mitch didn't know a lot of things. He didn't know whether this Stranger was genuinely interested in him or just wanted to get in his pants. He didn't know whether the Stranger would rush everything or take it slow. He didn't know why this person, this person that he didn't even know, drove him completely crazy. All he knew was one thing -- he had to go to that ball. WARNING - this story contains descriptions of abuse, homophobia, and transphobia, and includes the use of a homophobic slur. help me let down my guard
This is the sequel to wash me over until my well runs dry, which in turn is the sequel to this don't even feel like falling. It's not required that you have read either of those first, though you'll certainly get more out of this story if you do. If you choose not to, just go into this one with the knowledge that Scott and Mitch are already in a relationship, and at one point as teenagers, Mitch had a crush on him. Title from Beyoncé's 1+1. Everybody shout out to her for doing real actual writing for the first time in years, though!! Scott is a hard-core believer in true love. How could he not be, considering all the successful relationships surrounding him? His parents are going on their 35th wedding anniversary, his sister is newly married, his best friend is engaged, and half of the students in his 3 PM discussion section seem to be deeply infatuated with one another. So, he hasn't found "the one" yet, but that doesn't stop him from believing that he's out there. Scott's nothing special, so there's no reason he shouldn't find love, just like everyone else.
