Adhara Black has survived her whole life by keeping her head down. When the summer of 1976 ends with her brother Sirius bolting from Grimmauld Place and leaving her alone with the wreckage, Adhara returns to Hogwarts already promised to Evan Rosier, trapped in a future she never agreed to. She plans to endure it quietly, as she always has.
But silence doesn't hold. Not when she finds herself drawn - slowly, unwillingly, and against all reason - to James Potter, the boy who should have been nothing more than her brother's reckless friend.
