A girl is found drowned beneath Briar Bridge - her body dressed in white, her name unknown. The papers call her the river bride. The case goes nowhere. And then it gets worse.

Detective Daniel Moore is suspended for a mistake he swears he didn't make. His younger sister, Cathleen, refuses to let it go. Armed with a perfect memory and a habit of asking the wrong questions, she sneaks into the precinct to uncover the truth - and runs straight into Knox Weller, her brother's best friend and a detective who would rather face a firing squad than work with her.

He thinks she's reckless. She thinks he's arrogant. Neither of them plans to investigate the case together - but the more they uncover, the more dangerous it becomes to work alone.

Poison. Lies. Missing girls. A bridge that keeps pulling bodies back from the dark.

Cathleen Holloway was never meant to solve this case.
But she's the only one who can.

In two weeks' time, she plans to take control of her future while stripping her uncle of his. When she meets her match... Lord Greyson, the Earl of Claymore, can't seem to forget the mysterious lady he saved from being compromised, only for her to punch him in the face and descend a balcony to be rid of him. He doesn't expect to meet her again so soon, and not like this. As a lad who looks distinctly familiar, with a sharp tongue and a spirit that demands independence. What else is Greyson to do but watch over his little caterpillar, offering her safety and employment in his stables? It's the perfect solution. Or so he thinks. And finds herself falling in love... What neither one of them expects is the sexual tension that ignites between them. What's a girl to do when she finds herself falling for her employer. And that he seems to feel the same...for his stable hand. Death at Balfefield Abbey

31 parti Completa

Arabella Darley was brutally murdered. Young, beautiful, and the mistress of Balfefield Abbey, the violence of her death was matched only by the obscenity in which her naked body was elaborately posed for those who would find her. In a story that spans Ireland, England, and West Africa, as the nineteenth century turned into the twentieth, journalist Clara Sullivan and Detective Inspector Reginald Keating are ordered to investigate this most barbaric of murders. It is a dangerous time and place for both. Will either uncover the truth? The whole truth?
