That's what a beta was to Alessio "Alice" Rosenheath, Alpha of the Rosehaven pack. Especially when that beta was Rein Rivers. His right hand, his anchor, the man he trusted above all others.

Rein was curt, infuriatingly stubborn, yet capable of kindness so rare it burned into Alessio's chest like a brand. Strong. Loyal. Impossible to shake. And scentless, a beta who had no use for an alpha's claim.
