Nubia: Queen of Themyscira - Season 1

Synopsis:

Reborn from the ancient Well of Souls, Nubia emerges as the last Amazon to be born in centuries, a warrior destined to rule. Crowned Queen after Hippolyta steps aside, Nubia steps into a throne overshadowed by uncertainty. Shortly after her reign begins, five new Amazons mysteriously rise from the Well, defying prophecy and stirring unease among the people. The Amazon seer Penelope delivers a grim vision: Themyscira will fall, and Nubia may be the cause.

Her rule is tested almost immediately when Doom's Doorway, the barrier between the mortal realm and the underworld, is found unguarded. Through it escapes the spirit of Medusa, cursed and vengeful, possessing Amazons in a desperate search for her severed head. Nubia's investigation draws her closer to Io, the island's greatest artisan and her lover, who forges the Staff of Understanding, a weapon of unity and peace-yet one capable of great power in battle.

While Nubia struggles to contain Medusa's rampage, a new threat rises: Circe, a cunning sorceress with ambitions to seize the Amazon throne. Aligning herself with the militant Sons of Themyscira-men who despise the Amazons' matriarchal society-Circe orchestrates covert attacks designed to divide the Amazons and weaken Nubia's authority.
