I am VV, and while I usually write short stories, this time the tale felt too raw, too rhythmic, to be told in prose. The Red Flag I Called HOME is a journey woven in poems - each one a shard of memory, a fragment of truth, and a step through the shadows toward the light.

Disclaimer: This story contains depictions of terminal illness, severe symptoms, and emotional distress. I have intentionally written about illness in detail as part of my interest in studying medicine and observing the human experience of life, illness, and the passage of time. While inspired by real-life medical experiences, this is entirely fictional. Any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental. Please read with caution if you are sensitive to medical or emotional content.
