This fanfiction dives into the less pretty parts of the Steven Universe show. This is a close up of what life was like under Diamond rule before Pink became Rose Quartz, before the war that separated earth from gem control. This is the story of four gems whose history was buried and tarnished by the people they knew and trusted. The Obsidians. Once powerful leaders of homeworld, now left with nothing but the trauma of war, lies, deceit, and public mistrust.
This story has heavy themes in it, viewer discretion is advised. There will still be all of the original characters, but there will also be new characters and the canon storylines will be twisted to fit my OC's stories. The Diamonds are cruel and I will not diminish their brutality just because this is a "kid's show." So bear that in mind when reading.

Steven, Homeworld, Danger... Diamonds... Those words don't sound too comforting together, right? Who said this was a comforting story? For Steven and the gems, things finally don't go right. When Steven is separated from Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl during the attempt to retrieve his father from the zoo, he is found, and quickly identified as a rose quartz gem... and not just any, but the rebellion leader's own son. Blue and Yellow Diamond create a master plan to finally eliminate the Crystal Gems, and Steven is the key to doing so. The crystal gems won the war, and all that is left of the gems from homeworld are Jasper, Lapis, and Peridot. Steven is the son of pink diamond, a watered down way to preserve her life form from being shattered. No one knows they are there. All of the personalities are the same, just different circumstances and Steven's gem is diamond like. What will the Crystal Gems do if they find him? None of these characters are mine. What if Blue Diamond found out that Steven wasn't Rose Quartz a lot earlier and also knew the pain he has to endure daily.
