Madhearted

"I love you..."

Aarohi stopped in the middle of the road and said these words out loud, out of nowhere, with just the hope that she'd finally get her love.

"Have you gone mad, Roohi? I thought your madness had come to an end, but you are still stuck there. I have already made this clear, so why do you have to do this?"
-said Shantanu, in a high tone of frustration after glancing at Aarohi for a few seconds.

"So you don't love me?"
-asked Aarohi, her eyes filled with tears and her voice breaking.

"NO. How can I?"
The answer came without any hesitation.

Aarohi looked at Shantanu-the guy she had been in love with for four years. Her eyes brimmed with tears, but she didn't let them fall.

"Wapis kabhi nahi dikhungi. Khayal rakhna..."
(You won't see me again. Take care)
-said Aarohi, looking at Shantanu with her watery eyes. Then she came closer to him and slowly hugged him.

Shantanu's hands remained still; he didn't even care to console the little heartbroken girl. He only had a look of frustration on his face. Aarohi backed off after a few seconds and, with a smile, she disappeared-proving herself right: "Wapis kabhi nahi dikhungi..."
