Reeling from the immediate aftermath of his father's funeral, Barry Allen desperately needs a distraction from his grief. He throws himself into his work when a sudden, violent spike in military tech robberies strikes Central City. The investigation takes an unexpected turn when Barry uncovers evidence of metahuman activity at the crime scenes-along with a crucial clue that points directly to a city steeped in dark urban legend: Gotham City.

Following the trail to get his mind off his loss, Barry arrives in Gotham. A man of science and hope, the Flash suddenly finds himself in a gritty metropolis defined by shadows and moral ambiguity. While chasing his lead, he literally and figuratively runs into the city's resident vigilante-an experienced, hardened Bruce Wayne who fully carries the weight of his role as Batman.

Thrust into the biggest fight of his life, Barry and Bruce are forced into an uneasy alliance. The two men possess vastly different approaches to justice, but their initial clash of ideals is put on hold when the stolen Central City tech is linked to a familiar menace: the Riddler has returned to Gotham.

However, his lethal puzzles are just a prelude to a much greater crisis. As Barry and Bruce dig deeper, they discover a corrupt federal agency pulling strings in the shadows, all while a dangerous, unpredictable new force-the Joker-begins to emerge from the chaos.
