The First Volume in the Defiance Saga

Jasmine Underwood lives and works in the coastal town of Malish, a place under the watchful gaze of the Queen in the far-off land of Royltra. Her days consist of tending to her family's tavern, reading, and waiting for her cousin Kellum to return from his voyages at sea. She thinks nothing of the Enforcers who watch over her town or what else is going on in the Queen's Realm.

Until one night, she discovers her family is a part of an underground resistance known as the Defiance meant to overthrow who they call the Scarlet Queen while the Enforcers she knew as protectors become her enemies.

Armed with this new information, she is forced to leave her home when the Enforcers come for her and her family, as they are marked as enemies of the Realm. With the help of Kellum, she sets off towards the Defiance base across the sea in hopes they will provide her refuge. Along the way, she meets many allies who offer her aid, including the Lord of the Sea himself, and faces a violent foe who seeks to block her path, all the while grappling with the looming danger of the Queen's rule and the SCARLET SHADOW she casts over Jasmine and those close to her...
