The world is known to be shit.
Ever since human race was born on earth the world has been horrible with murderers, liars, thieves, rapists, cowards and abusers.
The only thing that tried to control this was the law and even if this people still existed there was a punishment if caught, so it was mostly under control after all.
Until law became nothing.
With the start of the outbreak anarchy reigned and this horrible people from being only the 10% or 15% of the whole population, they became more and more everyday, until almost every survivor became all this horrible things to survive.
But not everyone was a horrible person or at least tough at the start of this, an example? Dafne Peletier, sister of Ed Peletier and sister in law of Carol Peletier.
The girl had been abused her whole life from her father and then from her brother. She taught science in high school and would never hurt a fly, but the apocalypse changes you.
That's for sure.
