Elio is a depressed high school boy who has all the family problems you can think of. He keeps all of his emotions bottled up without an outlet. What happens when his family problems start to become too much for him and he's on edge? Isa is a proud artist who doesn't take shit from anyone. Her parents named her Isa because it meant strong-willed. She believes she is a feminist, strong-willed woman who will not bow down to anyone. What happens when she meets Elio and sees how broken he is? What will she do when she finds out he is the muse for her art? When she paints on that canvas, her brush is like fire to the world, giving the ideas in her mind a voice, where her heart beats unwillingly for this broken boy. What happens when these two voices clash, not only in their art but also in their feelings and trauma, facing each other like a mirror, showing the cuts the world can't see?

She was cold to the touch. Draped out on the lawn under a sky full of stars, shivers wracking her petite frame. "What the Hell are you doing out here, Bird?" I whispered, shrugging my jacket off and draping it gently over her shoulders. "N-No- Nothing." "Don't lie to me." She winced. "I-I'm sorry D-Drew." her teeth chattered noisily between her words. "You could have gotten really sick." I told her, picking her up bridal style and carrying her to the front porch. I raised my hand to knock but her fingers clamped onto my wrist. "Please don't make me go b-back in there. Please, Drew, I-I'm begging you." She began to sob. "Okay," I whispered, "Okay. let's go." Starling Forrest isn't like most people. She likes three things: apples, the sun, and routines. When Andrew Bianchi enters her life, he lets her keep her apples, and he can't take away the sun... but her sense of normalcy is shattered. A girl who doesn't understand her own emotions and a boy who has never felt any of his own. It takes two people to love, but can they can figure out how?
