I can remember the fear of the tree falling in front of my car, after it was struck by lightning. I can remember how it felt, cold rain on a summer afternoon pounded on my skin as I stepped out of my car. I was headed home to my parents house after graduating college. I remember the security I felt when he showed up, and told me everything would be okay, and to stay in my car. I remember the rain stopping and him getting to work removing the tree. I remember when his gray eyes looked into my green ones, as he woke me up to tell me it was clear. I remember my heart never beat the same after him.

The town was small in size as well as mind. The forest was huge and swallowed it whole. What lived within did not hesitate to do the same. Until one night when everything changes.

I ran. I ran as fast as I could. I soon found myself in a forest. The sound of light footsteps and crunching leaves caught my eye and I looked back. I saw her. Midnight black hair. Bright blue eyes. She was beautiful. Her body was hidden behind tree but her eyes never left mine. I blinked, thinking it was all in my head and when I lifted my eyelids she was gone. maybe someday I'll see her again.

What happens after you've saved the world? Even if you are an all-powerful being or vampire or some cross of any supernatural creature you've come in contact with? Normal life, apparently. But living a long life and seeing societies and their concepts of relationships, sexuality, and love change throughout the centuries means that normal life is... subjective.
