Shadows Among the Pines

Sequel to The Deadbeat Saints, Shadows Among the Pines tells the story of two misfit siblings are sent to summer camp in summer of 1999, where ghosts and demons aren't the only things that go bump in the night.

Seventeen-year-old reanimated corpse, Roman, and his nineteen-year-old foster sister, Noelle Delacroix, return to the Hayworth Institute with their debts finally paid off. However, after a mission goes spectacularly wrong, the dean dumps them at Hemlock Ridge, where they must spend their entire summer turning a pack of foul-mouthed preteens into ruthless monster hunters.

What should be a stress-free summer quickly spirals into a nightmare. The camp manager is an asshole, the cabins reek of decay, and the campers are unpredictable to the point that Noelle is already planning her murder spree. But when the Delacroix siblings stumble across a shallow graveyard hidden deep in the pines, the camp's blissful facade begins to crack. The laughter of children fades, the air reeks of rotting earth, and the ground itself trembles beneath their boots.

Initially, Noelle and Roman try to bury their heads in their work. After hearing rumors of campers and staff members returning in pieces, the siblings plan to navigate a labyrinth of rusted cabins and half-whispered threats as they piece together the truth. Don't get them wrong - Roman and Noelle couldn't care less about saving the campers or cleaning up anyone else's mess. But if exposing the camp's secrets is the only way to leave with all their limbs intact, then so be it.
