Not a Payback

Just like Cinderella, I used to believe in happy endings. That to be loved back, I just had to put up with their treatment. Mama's hostility, Papa's coldness, and even my brother's deception... I endured them all for the happiness I thought was waiting at the end of the line.
But when I grew up, Mulan taught me that I didn't need to be mistreated just to get their attention. I didn't even need any man to defend me.
Yes. This was just me fighting. This was not a payback.
