17-year-old Maisie Bloom is known as "that weird girl with all the kids." She's not a mom, technically-just the big sister. But ever since her own mom dipped out to "find herself" (two years ago), Maisie's been raising her three younger siblings by herself in a falling-apart rental in Santa Cruz, California. She balances school, part-time work at a tourist-trap taffy shop, making dinner off expired ramen, and stopping her siblings from setting things on fire (again). She's funny, sharp, scatterbrained, and absolutely drowning. Then comes Leo Vega-18, tattooed, too serious for his age, recently dropped out of high school to care for his 7-year-old niece after his sister OD'd. He moves in next door. He's the opposite of Maisie: quiet, guarded, angry at the world. They shouldn't mix. But they do. And when their chaotic little families start blending - slowly, clumsily, beautifully - Maisie starts to believe in something she's never had: A future.

Digi's summer plan was simple: work at her family's restaurant, hang out with friends, and stay out of trouble before senior year. Then Beck showed up. She didn't know he existed a month ago, and now - after accidentally texting the wrong number - he was everywhere. On the beach she's claimed as her own. In her parent's restaurant. At family events he had no reason to be at. And every time they cross paths, he managed to pull a little more of her world into his. What started as an accidental encounter turns into late-night conversations, shared secrets, and a connection Digi can't explain - or shake, despite how hard she tries. But Beck has his own past, and the closer they get, the more she realises that some people don't just walk into your life. Sometimes, they crash into it and leave nothing the same. This a story of chance meetings, cultural expectations, healing, and the kind of love they never saw coming - but couldn't walk away from. Hi guys, I hope you fall in love with Before You Replied, as much as I did while writing it. If you're into slow burns, men who are soft for their women, badass ladies, forbidden love, culture clashes, and characters who feel a little like people you know and love - then this one's for you.
