It's a quick process.

Ten of us are called from the Black List, ten of us are lined up side by side, ten brown sacks placed over each of our heads, ten ropes used to bind our hands together behind our backs.

Then all ten of us are shot dead, one by one.

*

Set in the future, Earth faces a critical problem of overpopulation.
The solution?
The Black List.
Each day in every village, ten names are called from the Black List, ten of them shot one by one.
But when Amelia Wicker gets called, and and old childhood friend who disappeared shows up again, Amelia finds herself questioning the way of things.
But time is short for Amelia, and as she looks back on her past, her future is ticking away.
Tick tock.
Tick tock.
Who will save her in her final moments? Or will she even be saved at all?

On the first day of 8th grade Jack Barakat notices the new kid, soon to be known as no other than Alex Gaskarth. By just one glance at him from the crowded school hallway, Jack has come to the conclusion that he hates him already. Alex just moved to Baltimore and he already has all the popular kids wrapped around his little finger. How he managed to climb to the top of the popularity list is beyond Jack's knowing. All Jack know's is that he can't wait to be far away from the school, from the popular kids, and farther away from Alex as possible. But what happens when a thought gets planted in Jack's lonely mind? When Jack starts to question things, question himself even, things take an unexpected turn. Did he really want to be far away from Alex? His mind said yes, but his heart says other wise. Everyone always tells you to listen to your heart, but people who are wiser than him-insert sarcastic laugh here- like his mother, his teachers, ect. yells at him, "Use your goddamn brain Jack!" So now the skunk color haired boy has to make a decision. Should he take a chance with his thoughts, or should he just forget them and be left to wonder the ultimate question. "What could have been?" "FUCK OFF LEAVE ME ALONE!" Jack yelled, pulling at his hair, remaining in the corner. **I DO NOT OWN ALL TIME LOW, EVEN THOUGH I WISH I DID. The Age of Information. They watch you, follows your every move. A slip of tongue, false alarm, wrong password and every bit of your information will be in the hands of the other end while you will be reduced to triviality. States dominating States, manipulating their population to work under them. To live and die for them, because, what is a man without its state? Nothing. A malicious and hideous Governing Body, playing keys of black and white, striped and colourful humans like puppets. The laws of marriage, pawns as children and trading everything to be placed further up the hierarchy. Blinded by the rapacity of power and fame, not even backstabbing is given a second thought. May it be to your dearest friend or foe. A girl of flesh and bones, contract bound to be a cyborg soon, eradicating stereotypes and malpractices, wrecking entitlement and fighting for peace. A boy of frail faith in love, snatched away from his lover, in search for a purpose to live for. Eight years. Seven days. Six hours. Five lives. Four heads. Three teenagers. Two states.
