He said. "I missed you."
They helped each other out of their clothes.
Rose felt bittersweet at hearing Tom's familiar opening line for their bath time. She wondered if he missed the long-legged blondes he'd left behind at his loft when he was with her.
"I went on a date yesterday," she said, searching his eyes briefly for any discomfort.
"How was it?" Tom asked as he helped her into the bath, letting her lean against his chest. There wasn't a tinge of jealousy in his voice.
"It was fine. He is a client. He took me to a bookshop with a cozy little café."
"Sounds like he knows what he is doing, taking you to a bookshop," he replied. "Are you seeing him again?"
"No, I don't think so."
"Why not?" he asked, kissing the back of her neck.
Because of you, she thought. Instead, she turned to kiss him on the lips.
"Why don't you tell me how to do it? To be with different partners at the same time?"
"I just do," he said while kissing her.
