17, nearly 18. Seems like a great time. Last year of school, a teens freedom. A time where you reminisce when your 40- "I wish I was that age again". Its an opportunity, leads to a future. This is both scary and exciting.
Its not all laugh and games for everyone though. There is always one individual that sits in the back, alone. They never participate in anything. Don't go to prom, nor graduation, no matter how hard they have worked.
Siobhan is this girl, she chooses to be that. Doesn't want any emotional attachments. Life is bad enough at home, it would be worse with heart break, or arguments with friends. So she keeps herself hidden, a shadow to everyone's laughter.
Though she cannot be this all her life, someone will eventually notice. This person, understands, knows what her life is like. Just as twisted, and welcomes death. Both hurting themselves, though they know its wrong, but the pain is too unbearable. They can save themselves. Just need the help of each other.
(Authors note: Hey, this is going to be an intense novel, with some violence in it. The girl I am writing about is having physical abuse from her dad, so if you find that distressing, I wouldn't read it. I'm hoping for it to be really good, and to spend as much time as possible on it. This is some of my reflections of life, having gone through some of 'siobhans' pain. However this is mostly fiction. I really hope you like it. Bringing you both pain/ tears and joy/ smile. Oh and the title will explain itself soon. :) Kat xx)
