Project Wildflower (Проект Дикие Цветы) was Hydra's final attempt to perfect the Winter Soldier program.

The 1991 project had proven one thing beyond doubt: creating a killer was easy, controlling one was not. Teaching a man to dismantle a weapon or a body was simple. Teaching him to dismantle his own mind, to forget who he was, was far harder. Even the Winter Soldier himself had moments where the programming cracked, when the ghost of James Barnes clawed toward the surface.

Hydra's solution was simple, and monstrous.
If adults could not be tamed, they would grow their soldiers instead. Children. Babies. Minds that would never learn freedom, and therefore never crave it.

Thus began Project Wildflower, an experiment in obedience dressed as rebirth.
Four children, grown in glass and raised in shadows. No names, no pasts, no choices. Only purpose. They were engineered from the DNA of the Winter Soldier and an anonymous female donor, the so-called "mother" erased before she ever existed.

They were born or rather, produced in the year 2000.
