Evernight - Inhuman

Ruby Whitlock is a vampire girl forever stuck in her 18 years of age.

Living since the XIX century, she spends all her days running from her past and trying to embrace her vampire nature. She dreams of achieving the capacity of turning her humanity off, in order to finally be free from the guilt and pain that haunts her.

In the middle of all of this internal drama, her brother, Benedict Whitlock, shows up again after years of distance, and tries to make their family relationship work once more, inviting Ruby to live with him in a common suburbian house in Charlottesville, Virginia.

While her brother tries to live a life as human as possible, Ruby seeks to end all of the remaining humanity that's left in her, and she finds the perfect manner of doing so when, at one night, she meets Jeremy Cooper - a teacher at the local university, vampire hunter, and the man with the face of her old love.

This is the first novel of a series of three books called "Evernight", all centered around Ruby and Jeremy, their love story and their lives in a supernatural world.

There are some characters with TVD's names and surnames. That doesn't mean that they have any relation with the series canon, just that i'm out of creativity. Although this story is set in a world much like TVD's, it isn't exactly set inside the series, just inspired by it, as it is also inspired by Twilight and Dracula (Bram Stoker).
