Not long ago, our world lived in the modern day. Technology was rising beyond our human comprehension and releasing models of software to 'better' our daily lives and first-world problems. As often as humans are, this method was short-sighted to the effect on their mental state and the world they lived in. Soon, our world was filled with conflicts stemming from environmental issues, groups, and even the technology that once helped us. Till one day, the world snapped. Buildings suddenly crumbled, fires spread, waves filled the streets, and the world shifted in anger.
That is when even the people and animals began to shift. The people fought against this change and labeled it as a virus. Some kept their cognition, while others became mindless, sometimes even aggressive.
This story follows two children: Sophia and Robin. As they adjust to this new world. Learn of their story as they learn of each other. While they document their findings of this new world. In hopes of finding protection for themselves and others. Soil's Alchemy is based on plant-based life emerging from decay and the human representation of that. This is a little project to find my happy place with my writing. Hope you enjoy!

Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself.
