Once a Predator (Part: 1)

More shoving, my head was submerged again and again. My eyes went black, and the pain in my chest was exposed once I tried to breathe under the water. It entered my nose, running through my mouth and down to my lungs. I was pulled back, trying to wheeze anything into my water-filled lungs.

I couldn't see anything through my soaked, clumpy hair and pain. My eyes were blurred with tears, perhaps even water. They felt bloodshot, and the bruise around my eyes now burned against my skin from the cold water.

"Stupid mutt." A sneer in my ear before I was forced back into the water.

No more.. stop it! I don't understand! What do I need to do!?

I don't want to keep fighting. I don't want to continue this any longer because I was losing. I had no chance at anything, no matter how hard I tried to reach for the open air. There was nothing--absolutely NOTHING I could do!

In a world where wolf shifters coexist with wild wolves, these beings seamlessly blend into their surroundings, living in both human and wolf forms. Most people are completely unaware of the existence of wolf shifters. Unfortunately, unlike the general public, gangsters and thugs take a different view. They seek out these shifters to exploit them for illegal underground fighting. The shifters are treated as mere commodities--sources of entertainment and profit. The gangsters view them solely as money-makers and pets, resulting in a harsh and dehumanizing treatment of these unique beings.
