The action takes her by surprise, but she doesn't pull away as the boy sits on the floor and wraps his arms around her frame.

"Hear my heart?" He whispers, rubbing circles along her arm in a soothing tempo. "I get scared too. But you and Paimon don't need to worry. I'll be careful. And I'll protect you. I'll always protect you. I promise."
