Short Story :) Sixteen-year-old Luca Vance has a system: keep your grades high, your sarcasm sharp, and your secrets close. It's not that he's ashamed of being gay-it's just that Ridgeway High isn't exactly bursting with rainbow flags. So Luca coasts through junior year with carefully managed charm and zero emotional attachments. Enter Rhett Sanders: quiet, intimidating, and allergic to small talk. The two have nothing in common-until a twist of bad luck (and one particularly cruel seating chart) throws them together. What starts as a string of awkward silences becomes casual conversations, becomes actual friendship, becomes... something Luca really didn't plan on. But between whispered rumors, cafeteria politics, and the minefield of being a teenager in a small-town high school, falling for someone might be the riskiest thing Luca's ever done. --No smut-- -2025- #504 coming of age #14 gay teen #370 gay romance #86 heartfelt #15 closeted #254 wholesome #94 opposites attract #228 no smut #27 secret crush #561 found family #29 queerromance #6 mom romance #1 Boysxlove #3 enemies to lovers

Fred is your typical teenager; moody, has low-self esteem, and is really bad at math. The only thing that makes him different from the other guys is his taste in music and his sexuality. He knows what he wants right from the start, but is scared of other people thoughts and judgements, and that's why he's kept himself inside the closet ever since he realized he's not really into girls. He tried to hide it from everyone else, even to his close circle of friends, but all of his plans started going south when he meets their new neighbor, Darren, a very handsome fellow who moved to Los Angeles with his family all the way from South Korea to live at the house on the other side of the road. Fred falls for him at first-sight, and things started to escalate when he found out that they were on the same class, and things got even more deeper when Darren agreed to be his tutor in calculus. That's when he realized that his hiding needed to stop. Witness as the two of them struggle with their hardships, relationships, and responsibilities in life as they try to keep their friendship intact from a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Will they manage to keep their relationship as it is, or will it develop into something more, that even an ocean spanning miles and miles couldn't completely separate them from one another?
