The Book of Books-Idea Collage
Beloved quotes or sections from my readings. A local author asked me what I tend to read to get an idea of what I might write like. I drew a blank, but what I told him he was able to figure out I was more of a literary and not mainstream writer. I thought I might share what I'm currently reading to also hold myself accountable...to keep reading and make time for it. Him telling me that I was a literary writer made everything click as to why it takes me so long to read books. I typically go for very deep content...borderline academia...It's not easy reading...rich in content and thought...gets the gears going and is sometimes darker thought as well. So now I have made sure to throw in some fun books as well to lighten the mood and to make reading more enjoyable. I have just realized while documenting my reading that I am more or less doing research for my book.... And I haven't been giving myself credit. I think it's because I was reading these books anyways... But I knew that I was using them to try to help me write my book. But since it's an autobiography and it's fiction (sort of...mostly...pseudo-soft-sci-fi really) I wasn't thinking it was research. Does that make sense? And now I realize that it is. So I've been so hard on myself going slow... But this also doesn't have a time limit as a friend mentioned to me... And now that I realize I'm doing research for it and I'm not just picking between wanting to read recreationally and write with them being two separate things... I feel a lot better about the process. So now instead of saying I decided to read instead of write I can say I am researching in order to better write my book.
WALKING IN MY SHOES
Madilyn is what you would call a 'nerd', she gets good grades, she's socially awkward and a bit mentally unstable but who isn't? East Blue high, a school that thrives off social status. Unfortunately for Madilyn she's right at the bottom (you know it's bad when the weird kids with crooked teeth and glasses stand a better chance then you) Then we have Zack Rainford, one of those people who thinks he's better than others because he's good at sports, rich and popular. He might as well have been a king with the way girls worship him, teachers praise him, dudes wanna be him. All Madilyn wanted was to get away from him, that would be easy if he wasn't her number one bully. When an incident leaves her in tears, making a dangerous wish that Zack knew what it was like to be her for once, that he'd take a walk in her shoes. Of course she didn't mean it literally but you know what they say : BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. And so yes, hottest most popular jock wakes up in a chicks body.Karma is a bitch and now...so is he ________________________________ "Ahhh what the fuck.."I shriek, springing into a sitting position while touching my chest or whoever's chest this is just to make sure I'm seeing right- I sure as hell didn't have boobs when going to bed last night 'im Zack Rainford for fuck sake ', i so badly wanna check if I still have my dick but I'm afraid of what I'll find under these unicorn pajama pants. People avoid him, even if they respect him. Jasper Red: He's polite, nice and helpful. A open book. He likes filling his life with other people and their love. People love him, they can't help it. Because of his quiet nature, snarky smirks and sarcastic words Castor has always had a hard time when it came to making friends -and keeping them. Something Jazz doesn't struggle with. With Jazz's protective nature, shyness and many friends he doesn't need someone else to fill a spot in his life -at least, that's what he thought. Then they met. It's like baking, almost, you have to mix the right ingredients together, and if you add the wrong ones things can taste hideous even if they look good. It's a lot like our words. But I've mastered how to tell someone just a little about myself but doing it in a way that makes the person in front of me think they know a lot. Jasper, somehow, sees through this every fucking time and it's absolutely infuriating.
