Yuexuan was crossing the street after yet another disappointing interview. Disheartened by his umpteenth failure, he wasn't paying attention to the road. A sharp honk startled him back to reality and his eyes widened as he looked at the truck speeding down the road.

His muscles clenched and he froze, eyes shutting tightly as he waited for the pain. One second, two seconds. Nothing. No pain, no screeching tires, no shouts, absolutely nothing. It was quiet, too quiet. He tentatively opened his eyes to find that everything was froze. The people, the cars, the animals. He was the only one moving.

"System installing...10%...25%....60%...100% installation complete." A mechanical voice cut through his confusion.
"You have met the requirements, would you like to become a host? If you refuse, your heart will stop in 0.02 seconds," the voice continued. Yuexuan chose to become a host without second thought. He didn't want to die.
