A retelling of The Beauty and The Beast.
When young Rosalind travels to a new village after her own is ravaged by plague and drought, she awakens in a strange castle with a stranger master. She has no memory of arriving, other than a piercing fear and terrible wound on her side. Nonetheless, he saved Rosey's life, and now she feels obliged to repay this act.
In a time of witches and curses, Rosalind will face terrible choices and grotesque monsters. Shes always been told stories of the things that go bump in the night, but now she will have to face the creatures that bump back.

I abandoned this story three years ago and missed working on it, so here I am crawling back with a broken spacebar on my laptop and a craving for more of The Mask and The Bell. I hope y'all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

Beauty and the Beast meets the Labyrinth in the story of a woman lost and a man who couldn't care less. I made a slight mistake. And by slight, I mean an uncharacteristic lapse in judgement has landed me in a place that my rational mind cannot explain, and my body cannot escape. A land full of strange creatures and decaying landscape all ruled by quite possibly the rudest, most rotten person I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. Luckily, I'm a woman quite capable of adapting to my surroundings and I have no problem going toe to toe with my grumpy adversary. I might even turn this dismal place around if I'm here long enough. I wonder, though. For someone who insists he prefers a solitary existence, he sure seems to pop up to antagonize me often enough. This is a clean romance. All I wanted from tonight was to sneak out of the ball to read in the castle's grand library and suddenly the prince is guiding me to safety even though he's the one they're after. In the morning we find out that the Light of the Realms was stolen and the castle is on lock down. All the guests from the ball must be tested to see who committed the crime and to top it off the Light of the Realms was what kept this kingdom safe and without it armies are moving in. Will we find the Light of the Realms before it is to late? Will the prince be ready to lead this kingdom into war if he has to? This is a sweet middle grade/ young adult romance. It is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Warning: This is a rough draft! So there will be spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
