Pierce's son Mike was experimented on with another version of the super serum. It was weaker than Bucky's. It didn't make Mike as strong, but it also didn't maximize his flaws or strengths. So he was still a pretty level-headed person. Until he was thrown into the same cell as none other than the Winter Soldier himself.
