Life can hold many things. Things to be made, things to be loved, and things to be feared.
Life can lift us up, tear us down, break us apart, and glue us back together again all while planning the arrival of the next unfortunate soul to unwillingly partake in his sick, twisted game.
Life is fragile, but unbreakable.
Life is fleeting, but eternal.

Death however, is a different story.

Eighteen year old Zarela Torres will soon discover the dark secrets of life, death, and everything in between, and in the process maybe even become Death herself.

The Grim Reaper Effect

54 parts Complete

Death is a funny thing. It's the ultimate step out of our comfort zones. You realize this world is the biggest comfort zone there is. Earth has always been a constant in a constantly changing world. We're all born into it with this air of certainty. We always know the ground under our feet will be there tomorrow. Death is like waking up and that comfort of the world around you is destroyed. -Ariella Denise // Mackenzie Oliver is finally a senior. She's ready to graduate and move on with life. But it's not that simple. In fact, it's impossible. One day, some random guy shows up claiming to be the Grim Reaper and tells her she only has one year to live. What do you say to that? "Bullshit." Unfortunately, vulgar language isn't going to stop the clock or save her life. Neither is slapping the Grim Reaper across the face. But, hey. It never hurts to try. Copyright © 2017 by Ariella Denise
