The powerful knew first, but knowing didn't save them. It saved Joel Miller, though. My father always said the porch light was a promise - that if it was on, you could always come home. Home to safety, comfort, and love. One day, I came home to Joel Miller, and I didn't know it then, but one day, the porch light would go out for good, despite my father's promise. But some promises have a way of finding their way back to you.

Outsider

"And I'm not here to be the saviour you long for Only the one you don't And are you watching me, with eyes of a predator As you move towards the door (...) Show me those pretty white jaws, show me where the delicate stops Show me what you've lost, and why you're always taking it slow Show me what wounds you've got, and show me love (...) Jaws - Sleep Token When you meet a girl that has been captured by your group and not agreeing with the fate they chose for her, you make a decision that brings overwhelming consequences to your life. You end up being saved by someone you may not have the desire to be saved by. Someone who has the same wounds and losses that you, that doesn't know what a delicate touch is for a long time. Who doesn't allow himself to be loved and to show love.
