Every fairytale needs a heroine. And every heroine needs a villainess. Margarette Everleigh has always been cast as the latter. Branded cruel, slandered by rumor, and betrayed by the people she once trusted, her only weapon left is her pride. But when a powerful Duke offers her his hand-not out of affection, but for his own entertainment-Margarette realizes her story is far from over. If the world insists she is a villainess, then perhaps it is time she learns to wear the crown. This story is personally inspired by my own experience of heartbreak and being called a "villain" in friendship. Though not everything here is accurate to reality, it carries pieces of truth from my own life.

Everyone knew Cinderella and her story. She lived a vicious life when her divorced parents needed to work in the Royal Palace and left her alone. Her stepmother and her two stepsisters did nothing but mistreat her, not until that party happened. A fairy grandmother, a dance, and a fallen shoe. Cinderella and the prince were married and lived happily ever after. Or... did they? What would happen if the princess everyone adored throughout their life was the antagonist everyone would hate if they only knew? What if the beloved princess... is the true villainess?
