Emmeline Vance was meant to be a Slytherin. She was meant to become her family's perfect pawn - a Gryffindor by name, a loyal pureblood daughter in truth. But plans rarely survive contact with reality.
Sorted into Gryffindor in 1971, Emmeline enters Hogwarts carrying the weight of ancient expectations and hidden orders. As the years pass, the lines between duty and desire blur: quiet friendships form, secrets take root, and loyalties begin to fracture. Torn between the world she was born into and the one she's building for herself, Emmeline must navigate a web of family pressure, forbidden love, and a war that creeps closer with every passing year.
Canon-compliant with Emmeline Vance as the main character. I tried to make the language and actions period typical but I'm not British so it might be a bit off sometimes.
It might remind you a bit like ATYD by MsKingBean89 because I was inspired to start writing because of that fic but I'm trying to not copy.
I definitely do not support JK Rowling's transphobia, I just love the Marauders and Harry Potter.
