A Lions Pain

He once lost everything and it nearly destroyed him. Attending a wedding has him looking straight at another potential heartache. But, maybe unintended actions will heal the pain he's been living with. Or will it destroy him all over again?

Excerpt:
"We've got the big party room at Ernie's place. I'm picking up the bill for anything and everything. You still a light drinker?"
"Yes. I'm not a fan of more then a couple beers. Upsets my stomach if I drink more then that."
"Good, can I enlist you as a chauffeur if someone ends up trying to set a new drinking record?"
"Sure. But I don't have a vehicle."
"Everyone has already said that using their own cars to take them home was fine. They were all fine with getting rides or cabs to retrieve vehicles."
"Well that will work. What are the in-laws like?"
"Oh boy, they are living examples of what would happen if someone gave a furry an extra shot of adrenaline."
"What kind are they, I can't remember what you told me."
"Cheetah. Janey, my little sister the lioness who dated half the world fell for a guy who I could break with one arm tied behind my back. Their kids are going to be either slow cheetahs, or fast lions. If you can get there a little early with us I can show you around the place."
"Unless Ernie's place has changed in the last few years while I've been gone, I know my way around."
"Remember they had that fire year before last, they remodeled all of the inside and had to change some of the walls around the kitchen."
"Right. I remember you telling me about that. I'll be there early."
"Thank you. See you later."
