Apricity [noun] - the warmth of the sun on a cold winter's day. - - Noah spent his days trapped in the frostbitten monotony of routine - wake up, classes, work, sleep. He watched as people moved, sun-kissed by romance. He envied them, secretly. Having spent the entirety of his life untouched by those rays of light, he had, at last, resigned himself to a life of endless winter. That was until he met Riley. If summer were to take shape, it would choose Riley as its vessel in every universe. Oddly enough, he'd spent his life on ice, craving the cold as his own future built up to be lived beneath the scorching beams of limelight. Could Riley be the warmth of the sun that finally thawed the snow that had piled up around him for years - or would the icy cold end up extinguishing the flames trying to reach Noah?

Thomas needed a vacation, but that didn't mean he wanted one. His best friend convinced him to come down to his family's beach house for the summer to unwind, to relax for once. Thomas wasn't swayed easily, but he found himself on a flight to Florida regardless, albeit begrudgingly. Thomas intended to mope around for the three months, drink away his problems, and maybe get a tan in the process. However, his plans were thwarted when an unwanted houseguest from his past arrived the day after his getting there, leaving a bitter tang on the entire "vacation." Not to mention, Thomas was forced to share what he thought was his room with his best friend's wife's ridiculously handsome brother, Dallas. Thomas was on the cusp of drowning in the first week. Relaxation wasn't even on the agenda. He just had to try to keep his head above water.
