When Princess Annalisa turned eleven, her wedding was arranged with Prince Christopher. And ever since Annalisa was eleven, she hated Prince Christopher. He was arrogant, ill-tempered, and selfish, but she didn't have a choice. Every time they meet, Annalisa puts on a mask, hiding her emotions from the outside world. But when they aren't in public, Prince Christopher becomes the cruel, violent person that he truly is. Annalisa knows that Christopher only bothers to stay with her because she will give him more power, and a wife at his disposal. Annalisa never disobeys her father's wishes or commands. She lives her life surrounded by a man that doesn't love her, a man that she must marry. But when a handsome new guard arrives at the palace, Annalisa has the most important choice of her life. Should she disobey her father, and follow her heart, or please her father by marrying into a life that will bring her everything other than what her heart truly wants? And what will happen when a twist of events brings an unexpected betrayal, that puts the pressure of setting everything right on her shoulders?
