Alya Ramsey has nothing to lose but herself.
Entering Harvard to pursue a desire she won't reveal to anyone, she finds herself catapulted into the secret world of the Hardens: a family named after the zodiac signs who test anyone who dares to challenge them. Their challenges are unmagical, but they are more lethal than any spell: moral choices, power plays, fears laid bare.
Alya will have to face them all, one after the other, risking collapsing under the weight of guilt and the memories that torment her. Between her and freedom stand twelve ruthless judges-and one in particular, Scorpius, who seems intent on destroying her piece by piece.
