Proposal of Submission - Psychic the Saga
Hello, I want to first thank you for taking the time to read my proposal, as I know that there are many others you must work through who have done the same as I; please, trust me when I say that your attention is greatly appreciated. I am messaging you today because I wish to submit a selection of excerpts taken from the series of science fiction/science fantasy stories I have written; called Psychic the Saga. I'm a former United States Marine, and a currently enrolled Aerospace Engineering undergrad at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Over the course of the last eight years, during which the earlier stated experiences have occurred in my adult life, I have continually written the story I am now presenting for your consideration. Outside of writing as a hobby, and what was needed when submitting assignments, my only writing credential is a published engineering research paper in the European Physical Letters: 'Tailorable Twisting of Biomimetic Scale-Covered Substrate'; of which, my main contributions were that of the experimentation, and the editing/proofreading of the paper. In regards to my submission, the story of Psychic follows our trio and the rest of their friends as they fight for peace and stability within the newly unveiled realm of psychics, once hidden amongst the world for untold millennia. The statistics of Book One are as follows: word count = ~205279, page count = ~396, target audience = young/new adult (16~34 yr. of age). The reasoning behind this age range is two-fold: the concepts, morals and lessons, themes, and situations/ problems faced by the main characters are both relatable and beneficial for this age group; also yes, there is foul language, and yes there are very visceral depictions of violence. Welcome readers to my fantasy world. I have brought you something beyond the constraints of my imagination, and I wonder if many are ready for it; however, a good story must be told, and I am fortunate to be the one to tell it. Imagine a world where the vile nature of mankind creeps its ugly head as humanity faces its first and last major catastrophe. The world plunged into everlasting darkness, entrenched in chaos and disorder, where hope is a distant flitting memory. The story I propose to my fellow readers follows Anthony Verdun, who was only a boy when all he knew was taken from him in an instant. Trepidation: Act 1
10,000 years in the future, humanity has long since inhabited a region of space simply known as the "Habitable Zone of the Milky Way," or simply the "Habitable Zone." Many advancements have been made, though many are irrelevant to the billions - or perhaps more - of souls scattered across space. Everything operates under the silent, vague, but present scrutiny of the gods, with thaumaturgic talents dominating many human cultures in some capacity. Churches reign over the post-Altarum territories a century after the Silence. The World, at least as far as many within the Habitable Zone are concerned, is a cold, thoughtless plane of existence. It is within a single vessel, known as the CSS Groundskeeper, do things begin to influence the "Things To Be," as labeled by followers of the pantheon. Within this ship, two individuals will face the beginning of what is to be unimaginable horrors within an unforgiving universe, both with the same goal: do not succumb to the darkness. Trepidation: Act I is the first story in what is to be a much longer novel detailing the story of two individuals in the cold universe. Act I may contain disturbing content for some readers. ChaosWorld
ChaosWorld is a sprawling, multi-layered universe that blends elements of adventure, conflict, and deep introspection. Set in a fictional world where nations rise and fall, characters experience political upheaval, emotional turmoil, and the pursuit of power, all within a server-driven, role-playing setting. The world is known for its ten Chaos Wars, which shaped the land and its people, as well as the intricate relationships that developed between characters, many of whom are tied by family, alliances, or rivalries. At its core, ChaosWorld explores the chaotic nature of human existence, reflected in the political conflicts, personal struggles, and moral dilemmas its characters face. The world itself is reshaped countless times-destroyed and rebuilt, mirroring the inner battles of its inhabitants. What starts as a peaceful land, turns into a complex battlefield, as various groups vie for control and survival. Key themes like redemption, rebellion, leadership, exile, and unity run throughout the story, all intricately tied to the larger narrative. Each of the characters, from Katredron to Star, Kacy to Kolp, carries their own story arcs, revealing their humanity, flaws, and strength as the story progresses. The blurring the line between fiction and reality plays a large role, as characters confront their real-life counterparts in a final moment of closure before the server comes to its end. Though the tale is fictional, it echoes the real-world experiences of its creator, offering social commentary on leadership, responsibility, and the weight of one's decisions. ChaosWorld invites players and viewers alike into a richly developed setting where chaos and order, destruction and creation, and conflict and resolution are constants. As the story comes to an end, the world remains a testament to its lasting impact.
