"I think exactly what you showed me." Jennie's words were cruel, but her fingers trembled as they gripped the wine glass. "You disappeared in the middle of my show, Lisa. You knew how much tonight meant. And you were with her."
Lisa stepped forward. "She's a client, Jennie! I told you-"
"Enough!" The glass shattered against the floor. Wine bled into the marble like spilled blood.
Lisa froze. For a heartbeat, there was only the sound of rain and Jennie's ragged breathing.
Then came the whisper, soft but fatal:
"Leave. Tonight. I don't want to see you again."
Lisa's throat closed. "You don't mean that."
