He'd been hearing her name for years. Not a real name only whispers, nicknames, the kind people gave to things they couldn't explain. The Orphan Saint. The False Angel. The girl who made sinners confess in the middle of liquor stores, who left men swearing they'd seen halos before the streetlights flickered out. That kind of talk could get someone killed in Gotham. It already had.

Most of the time, he wrote it off. Gotham loved its urban legends. It needed them the way the city needed Batman, myths to stitch the fear together, reminders of what lurked beyond the light. But then came the details no cop could laugh at: people shaking in alleys, trembling like they'd stepped out of a sermon. Gang lieutenants giving up their stashes like it meant salvation. A kid whispering, "She looked at me, and I couldn't lie anymore."

And then there were the darker stories.

A burned-out building where half a dozen squatters swore they'd seen God's shadow walk through. A body in the river, mouth frozen mid-prayer. Whispers of people trying to worship her and ending up broken instead.

He had learned, painfully, that sometimes the line between a savior and a threat is thinner than anyone realizes and that one person could walk it without ever meaning to.

He would have never expected to meet the women behind the rumors by crashing into her apartment window and he also didn't expect her to be so... intriguing.

Inspired by Instagram account: talon.grayson Extract from the book: Inside the cave the scene was still silent. Some lay in sleep within the pool of blood, and not a sleep they would ever awake from. Others sat in silence, utterly defeated from the half day they had spent in that room with Talon and the utter fear he had made them feel when he hunted them all down. A hunter and its prey. They had been put closer together now as well, Talon had deemed that they could talk but they were still separated enough that none was within reaching distance of the other. But they didn't want to talk. Some of them wished it would end already, like M'gann. Some were struggling to keep up their sass, like Artemis. And some were trying to stay in control, not to let their emotions get the better of them because that's the boy they raised doing this god-forsaken things to them. But the control would not last. Everyone knew that at some point the Batman was going to break. And he was going to break the hardest. So they sat there, chained and restrained in their chairs, wearily watching him as silent tears fell to the floor and mixed in with the red of their fallen friends. Jason had been walking for nearly twenty-four hours and his hopes for finding anyone in the cave alive were dwindling with each second. But he had gone and done the noble thing, he had gotten help. Maybe the three of them could stand a chance at beating Talon, maybe they wouldn't. But they had to try, it was the right thing to do. So the trio headed to the cave, not stopping to rest for the night because they could feel the danger in the air, they could tell that this strange boy that had turned up on their doorstep was telling the truth. A truth that could destroy America for good.

percilla Jackson, or Percy as she was known, lay amidst the carnage, the last ember of life flickering in her sea-green eyes. Her friends, fallen heroes of Olympus, surrounded her, their lifeless forms a chilling testament to the brutal battle. Then, a blinding light consumed her; a chorus of divine voices, Zeus's rage a palpable force, Poseidon's sorrow a tidal wave. Against her will, she was reborn - the Goddess of Justice, Vengeance, Children, and Peace, a cruelly ironic quartet of domains. A century passed, the weight of her impossible responsibilities crushing her. Her pain, far from fading, spiralled into a vortex of despair, threatening to shatter the very fabric of her divine existence. Lord Chaos, ever vigilant, saw her impending destruction. He couldn't allow such a powerful being to unravel, not when the cosmos trembled at the thought. With a flick of his chaotic hand, he sealed her divinity, her memories reduced to a whisper of her name, Percy, and her sea-green eyes a striking contrast to her now youthful appearance. He plucked her from the Olympian realm, depositing her in a dimension where the Old Gods were mere legends, a world shrouded in shadows and echoing with forgotten magic. He chose his vessel carefully: Jason Todd, the Red Hood, a man haunted by his own demons, a man who craved purpose. Nico had two goals when he moved to Gotham #1- help new demigods get to Camp #2- don't meet the Waynes He didn't have anything against the family, how could he when he was only told about them the day before he moved, but he had heard about the serial adoption of black haired kids. He already had a strained relationship with his father, he didn't need a second one. -------- As Nico sat in the park with the random boys he befriended, he finally felt normal. They didn't know who his father was; hell, they thought his father was dead. He was quite literally the most free he had been since Italy and even then, it was under Mussolini at the time so that was a bit of a stretch. The calm seemed universal throughout the group until Tim's phone rang. "Oh shit, it's Bruce." Immediately all of them were on alert scanning the surrounding area while Tim talked on the phone, panic in his eyes. "He was on the other side of the park for a walk between meetings and saw a picture of us walking in the park online," Tim said as soon as he hung up. "Wait wait wait" Nico said as Jason looked like he was preparing to literally throw him into the tree. "Bruce as in Bruce Wayne? You're the Wayne's?! And why are you acting like he's gonna shoot me on sight?" "He's gonna shoot adoption papers at you." Damian mumbled, once again begrudgingly reviving a high five from Tim and Dick. Jason just rolled his eyes as he made his hands a step for Nico to get in the tree. "Yes we're the Wayne's. How do you know of us, but not have a clue what we look like?" Nico climbed onto the lowest branch that was a good six feet off the ground. "I was technically homeless until a few months ago and just got a phone last month, sue me for never seeing a picture," he said in a whisper yell before continuing to scale the tree. -------- Daily updates at 12:15am EST
