When Dylan Silvers and his friends accept an invitation to spend the summer at the Ripley family ranch in the Nevada desert, they expect quiet nights under endless stars, wide-open landscapes, and a much-needed escape from the chaos of home. But beneath the sun-scorched plains lies something far older-and far hungrier-than Dylan could have imagined.

Whispers of abandoned mines and half-forgotten tragedies quickly turn into a living nightmare as Dylan, his sister Andromeda, his girlfriend Aura, and their friends Tyler and Rafe discover that the ranch is not the safe haven it appears to be. Something monstrous lurks in the shadows, a predator with an insatiable hunger that should have died out long ago.

As the nights grow longer and the killings more brutal, the group must fight to uncover the truth hidden in the desert's dark heart-and decide whether they can put an end to the horror once and for all, or become its next feast.
