JD Westbrook was recruited from the US Army Rangers into the R.C.P.D's Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.) He was partnered with a fellow newcomer named Jill Valentine. The two would form a strong partnership and grew closer to each other over the years. In 1998 a string of cannibalistic murders occurred in the Arklay Mountains around Raccoon City. S.T.A.R.S Team BRAVO was sent to investigate but all communications went dark and Westbrook's team was sent to search for them. Little did they know the nightmare they were about to experience was only the beginning.
