I frowned. "Wait... what?" Did she just compare me to... chemistry?
She arched an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're actually studying chemistry?"
"Of course!" I said, maybe a little too defensively.
Her smirk turned lethal as she stepped closer, her perfume hitting me like a catalyst in overdrive.
"You," she whispered, "are a catalyst who's sped up my heart rate and destabilized my entire equilibrium. Now..." she leaned in, her lips dangerously close, "...you'll have to take responsibility for my heart."
I stared at her, deadpan. "Yeah... that's definitely not in the syllabus."

"You have got to be kidding me" he utters suddenly. "What?" i ask and follow his line of sight down to the ground floor front desk. "Angelo? What's wrong" i ask again, concern creeping into me as I put my hand over his on the table. "Nothing's wrong baby. Just that my sisters are here" he turns to look at me and turns his hand over, so that he grips mine comfortingly. "Oh....oh! Ok, well, we are done here right?" i ask rhetorically, referring to our meal, then pull my hand free and reach for my purse. "Yeah, calm down. It's ok, i just wasn't expecting them to show up here" he says softly, when he notices me getting ready to leave. "No worries" i stand up anyway. "What are you doing?" He asks, alarmed. "Leaving, i will see you later, yeah?" "Marianne, sit down" His eyes narrow at me in an intimidating manner, but i don't cower. "Sit down" he says again, even more assertively. "I am not meeting any more of your family." I mutter. "Sit down! this is not funny" he says under his breath, trying not to bring too much attention to our table, when i look just about ready to leave. I slip out of my corner and into the now empty hallway, shutting the doors behind me. I race as fast as I can away from that interrogation room and tears stream down my face. I've tried so hard to be good. I've tried so hard to fit in. What have I done to deserve this? Lost in thought, I can't look where I'm going. My face connects with a human-feeling thing. "Emma?" Tyler asks and states. I look up into his cold eyes. "You?" I push past him, slamming my shoulder on his. Pain spikes through me, but all I can think about is getting out of here. There are black dots in my vision. I hear yells and calls after me, but they are faded. I burst through the first door I find. A mob of people await me, but they aren't about to arrest me.
