The Prophecy : A Candle in The Dark

In a distant future. the world fell into utter chaos. Each and every nation fell as an unknown evil came and spread sickness, destruction, and famine. Creatures spawned from below and brought havoc with every step slaughtering everyone in their path. For a time the people endured, the remaining survivors gathered and built a citadel with walls designed to be impenetrable and indestructible.

The Walls might have been incorruptible, but the hearts of men were not. As the famine laid waste on each harvest, food was scarce. This led to the rationing of food that left some unsatisfied. Even the richest of the rich was made to wait for little food that was sometime skipped so other members of the community may feast as well.

The number of unhappy members of the community were increasing everyday in which resulted into riots and atrocities. Crime overwhelmed the streets of the Citadel that forced the leaders to deploy force men to abolish the evil that was manifesting in their sanctuary. The stationing of enforcement in the citadel was a mistake that can't be corrected. Some of the officers resorted into violence that made the rebels angrier. A war formulated between the military and the rebels that made the citadel into an unsafe war zone.

The people were forced to leave the Citadel as it was much more dangerous to linger inside than to try and co-exist with the creatures outside. As they opened the gates, they were greeted by a foul stench that made half the group sick. There was another problem, some creatures were roaming the main roads or what was left of it. With no were to go the people were left with a dilemma. Go back inside the Citadel or to bypass the demons that were surrounding the walls. Some ran back to the once safe haven they've known and others went the other way. Some of those who went back were gunned down or bombed while they searched for a place to hide, and those who escaped found luck as the demons were slain by a faction hidden from the world.
