First & Second Loves: Notebook Fanfiction
A modern retelling of the 2004 film The Notebook, starring Rachel McAdams (Allie), Ryan Gosling (Noah), and James Marsden (Lon).
When I was in high school, I really rooted for Noah and Allie. But now, I can't help noticing how volatile their relationship. Lon, meanwhile, is so funny, sweet, playful, and supportive. And Allie appears genuinely happy when she's with him.
I'm writing Notebook fanfiction because I wanted to push back against the idea that love and passion have to be volatile, and I wanted to give Lon Hammond the serious consideration he deserves.
My story is set in modern day and focuses on the characters when they're in their 20s, because I cannot with the Alzheimer's. It's too heartbreaking and real life is hard enough.
