At once, everyone knelt. "Hail to the savior of Kali Kingdom!"
Shivani's gaze shifted, meeting her husband's smirking eyes. Dressed in green, he stood at the edge, watching her like a hunter sizing up his prey. Her smile faded, replaced by cold resolve.
"I am not a warrior, Maharaja," she stated. "Just a teacher. My work here is done."
"Rise," he ordered softly, eyes still locked on hers. As the men stood, he stepped forward, his smile deepening. "I, too, wish to learn. I shall pay a suitable fees. Don't worry."
Her jaw tightened. "I have nothing to teach the great King," she said, laced with sarcasm. "I'm just a mere woman correcting mistakes-while you, of course, are flawless."
Unfazed, he removed his rings one by one, handing them to a servant. "It's a humble request, Maharani. Please teach me. How can you judge my skill without facing me?"
Her grip on the sword tightened. He had struck a nerve. "Fine," she snapped. With a sharp swing, she stepped back, putting space between them.
A sword was placed in his hand. With a slight nod, he raised it, ready for battle.
